Organza Constructions - 3D Textiles
The textile pieces explore the potential of a material and push its physical limits while striking a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Sheer fabric is pieced together in a 3-dimensional quilt to create soft, rolling landscapes. Composed only of fabric and thread, the structure comes from the sewn seams, and the pieces are collapsible for storage or shipping. Totally flexible and scalable in size, I would love the opportunity to completely fill a room with this work and transform a space into an extraterrestrial or dream-like landscape. The pieces can be hung from the ceiling or walls as well as placed on the floor to create a fully enveloping environment.
